Family Trip at Last

Doug and the girls picked me up yesterday from the Convention Center and we immediately headed for our first stop, the Rocky Mountain National Park.  It was beautiful, the mountains are so amazing to look at.

I was so happy to finally see my family, I missed them all a lot!  We had a relaxing evening by the campfire.  I did not post last night because we had NO INTERNET.  Hailey was mortified with this situation, she wanted so badly to get in touch with her friends back home.  She kept referring to the "old days" back before internet and actually said that she wanted to go home.

Here are some pictures from the Rock Mountain National Park.

Today we went to The Molly Kathleen Gold Mine tour.  It was a lot of fun and very interesting for everyone.  We went down 1,000 feet into an actual gold mine, and learned about mining in the early 19th century through today.  Our guide was an actual miner, who was very knowledgeable and was able to show us exactly how to use the different types of equipment.

Speaking of traveling 1,000 feet, we also went to 10,200 feet above sea level today.  I was freaking out the entire time as Doug drove up the mountain with the camper.  He kept saying "look out the window".  When I did look it was beautiful, just very high up.

Now we are currently enjoying the view from Cheyenne Mountain Camp Ground.  It is so peaceful and quiet (and we have Internet).  We actually had 2 deer just walk right behind us.  Pretty Cool.
Tomorrow we have to get up pretty early for our 8 am reservation for the Cog Railroad.
