Today we left the Grand Canyon. Doug must have stopped at every other outlook for "one last view" so we did get a lot of pictures. We also stopped at the Watch Tower as well. We all had a good time talking and joking around as we took in the scenery.
We then made our way through Arizona into Utah. It was a long 6 hour drive and I actually was awake for most of it. It was very interesting to see the landscape change from canyon, to desert to mountains again.
We made it to Zion National Park and it is truly amazing. The cliffs and rock formations are beautiful. The girls were so tired of the drive that once we made it into the park (we had about a 9 mile drive to the campground from the entrance) that they rolled their windows down and began waving to the hikers and tourists in the park. Surprisingly many people waved back. It was funny!
We stopped where we thought the visitors center was, but ended up at a nearby restaurant so we decided to eat dinner there before we made it to the campground. The food was pretty good, and it was nice for Doug to relax from driving and we could all enjoy the scenery since we opted to sit outside.
After we set up camp we headed to the 9:15 Ranger Talk, this one was about how the weather has enabled this park to form. Doug and I found it to be very interesting but I think the girls were a little bored. Not as exciting as last nights talk about mules- LOL!!!
Now back in the camper, relaxing and getting ready for tomorrow when we will explore more of the National Park. The WiFi here in the park is horrible so I will not be posting many pictures until later.
