Little Talbot Island

Little Talbot Island

Today was an awesome beach day!  We slept in and after breakfast headed across the street to the beach.  Even though we have been to Florida several times, this was the first time we have gone to the beach while there.  It was such a great day.  The beach at Little Talbot Island State Park is not crowded and so clean.  The girls loved playing in the water, riding the waves, making sand castles, and trying to catch minnows.  Doug even went in for a dip a few times.  I only went in knee deep, but that suited me just fine.  It was a great way to relax and enjoy summer.  One of the funniest parts was when Doug and I were eating our sandwiches.  The seagulls quickly gathered around us eyeing us up and before he knew it. One swarmed in and took a bite out of Dougs. The darn bird would have gotten the whole thing if Doug was not holding on so tight to it. It was funny!

For dinner we headed down the road to The Sand Dollar Restaurant.  All of us had a great dinner, which included deep fried alligator tail as our appetizer.  It tasted quite good, all of us enjoyed ourselves.  After dinner we drove into town to the grocery store to get groceries for the next few days.  The drive was beautiful.  I love Spanish moss covered trees and palms.

Now we are back at the camper and Doug is getting the campfire ready for an evening of smores and star gazing.  Tomorrow we head to South Carolina.  I love vacation!!  Hopefully we will have better wifi at our next stop so I can finally add pictures to this blog.
