We decided to sleep in a bit this morning and did not get on the road until 11:30. I had a hard time sleeping last night, so an extra few hours of sleep was greatly appreciated! We made it the Charleston KOA easily enough with only one stop to make and eat lunch and to pick up Gorilla Tape to temporally fix the camper. We met up with Doug’s Uncle Bobby and his wife Loraine for dinner and ice cream and then walked through the town square of Summerville. It is a quaint historical town, most of the shops were closed but there was live music set up and we enjoyed listening to how Bobby ended up in South Carolina and how he met Loraine. They told us how the town has changed over the years and about the azalea festival they have every year. It was a very nice way to spend the evening. As we were leaving, we were able to see a freight train pass right through town. Doug was in his glory, as he LOVES trains!
Once we got back to the camper it was 9:30 and we had enough time to start laundry, patch the camper and relax a little before bed. Tomorrow is going to be an early day, as we have lots planned to see and do.
